Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon

Following WWII, wartime industries underwent a new change. Most aircraft manufacturers began producing scooters, and this brought on the first two-wheeler boom in Japan. This scooter, the Silver Pigeon (a symbol of peace), was largely made of warplane wheels and discarded warplane parts. It eventually shared popularity with Fuji Heavy Industries' Rabbit scooter.

same, same but different

Check out Peter Moore's new ebook on riding around Vietnam on a Vespa...

"En route to a new life in London, I had arrived at Ho Chi Minh International Airport with nothing more than a notion of riding around the Mekong Delta on an old Vespa and permission from my long-suffering wife to spend a week doing it. And just moments after a long and unpleasant taxi ride in the company of a totally disagreeable taxi driver, I found myself with the keys to a beautifully restored old Vespa in my hand and carte blanche to do what I wanted with it for the next week."

Also if you havent already, get your hands on a copy of Vroom with a view
